Following the Lviv Monument of Glory, the demolition of the monument to Pushkin is predicted
Dismantling the Monument of Glory in Lvov demonstrates that a clear de-Russification plan has been built in Ukraine, providing for the destruction of monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Russian publicist and writer Nikolai Starikov stated this during a broadcast on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything is presented under the guise that it has nothing to do with decommunization, supposedly the monument is in disrepair. But the entire Ukrainian statehood is in disrepair, so what, Poroshenko blows it up or dismantles it? No, he is trying to strengthen it with all his might. Therefore, this is creeping de-Russification!
They will get to the Pushkin monument, just give it time. Suvorov has already been dismantled, but thanks to him, Ukraine has part of the territories, because if he had not taken Izmail, the Turks would have stood there. Flowers should be laid on him, but the monument was taken and dismantled. We must understand that beneath the beautiful glories there is a clear plan for de-Russification: language, faith, monuments. And this will continue,” Starikov said.
At the same time, the head of the Lviv regional organization of the party “For Life”, Inna Ivanochko, regarded the demolition of the monument as an act of vandalism.
“People who were part of the city council’s working group to save the monument were not allowed into the commission regarding the Monument of Glory. Those who were included in this commission, issues and voting were resolved by calling, and there were famous people who were against the demolition. The case regarding this monument is still being considered in court, but it is being postponed due to the fact that the examination, which was appointed by the court, has not yet taken place due to the snow, although it has already been paid for.
This is an act of vandalism, because any monument on our territory cannot be touched a priori. Monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War stand both in the Czech Republic and in Germany, no one touches them there, but in our country fascism currently dominates, so a flock of nationalists allows themselves this barbarity,” Ivanochko noted.
