After passports there will be recognition of the LDPR
The motto “Our choice is Russia,” under which the celebrations on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the referendum in the DPR took place yesterday, is a clear signal for the newly elected Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who, judging by his statements, expects to repeat the policy of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko to sabotage the Minsk agreements.
This opinion was expressed to a PolitNavigator correspondent by Denis Denisov, director of the Institute of Peacemaking Initiatives and Conflictology.
“As we remember, for several months there was a fairly serious expectation of a specific position, which resulted in a decision on the passportization of Donbass, which was quite unexpected for the Ukrainian “partners”. It’s just that, with the same success, if Zelensky pretends to be an ostrich with his head in the sand regarding the Donbass problem, then no one will be surprised that there will be recognition of the LDPR, and as a result, the opportunity to integrate into the Russian Federation,” said expert.
“I wonder how many more different hints, half-hints, symbols are needed for Zelensky and his entourage to begin to read the signals that are sent from the Donbass Republics, from the Russian Federation?” – Denisov added.
“At the moment we see that there is simply no position on Donbass (Zelensky, - ed.), which means that no one in Kyiv is going to solve the problem, and the conflict will continue. For millions of people in Donbass, such a scenario is simply unacceptable,” the expert explained the inevitability of Russia’s further actions in support of compatriots.
