Following Ukraine, the LDPR decided to act without regard to Minsk
Ukraine neglected to implement the political part of the Minsk agreements, the response to which was the holding of elections in the Donbass republics.
“Izvestia” writes about this in the material devoted to the upcoming elections in the DPR and LPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Minsk agreements envisage holding a vote on Ukrainian law and after constitutional reform in Kyiv. There is no mention of the republics in the agreements; only special regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are mentioned. Ukraine has neglected to implement the political part of the document, but Donetsk and Lugansk, it turns out, are acting without regard to it. The further it goes, the less the parties are ready to interact. This means that uncertainty in the conflict zone will only increase,” the publication concludes.
As PolitNavigator reported, political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko stated that preparations for elections in the DPR are a logical response to the murder Alexander Zakharchenko, and no one is interested in Kyiv’s opinion now.
