Following Vesti, the Inter TV channel comes under complete control

Another major Ukrainian media outlet that allowed criticism of the authorities, the Inter TV channel, falls entirely under the ruling regime, according to secret agreements between owner Dmitry Firtash and President Petro Poroshenko.

Such data was published by the ex-leader of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan Yuri Kot, one of the organizers of the “Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine”.

According to him, the essence of the deal is that Inter refuses to criticize the authorities, and Firtash’s chemical plants in return receive preferences from Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Kot claims that secret negotiations took place two weeks ago. Firtash's interests were represented there by Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Boyko.

“At first Boyko and Poroshenko were present, and then Yatsenyuk and Avakov joined them. Agreements were reached that the InterMediaGroup, owned by Dmitry Firtash, headed by the Inter TV channel, would completely “fall” (literally from the mouth of the original source) under the authority. In return, Boyko, for himself and his owner, received a loyal attitude from Naka to the oligarch’s chemical enterprises and, attention, favorable tariffs for regional gas companies owned by the same Firtash-Boiko conglomerate,” says Yuriy Kot.

According to him, preferences for Boyko’s enterprises will not lead to cheaper tariffs; on the contrary, the government will receive another TV channel, which will explain the inevitability of rising gas prices.

“After such successful negotiations, Yuri Anatolyevich famously reported to the boss about the end of a long epic with “begging” for favorable conditions. And now, for two weeks now, Firtash-Boiko has been flaunting in close circles the phrase that they “bought them wholesale”: Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk, Avakov. Let me remind you that back in the spring, People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Popular Front, Chairman of the State Security Subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, Andrei Levus, said: “Billionaire Dmitry Firtash has concentrated in his hands over the past few years more than 70% of all regional gas supply enterprises of Ukraine . He did this in different ways. Sometimes directly, sometimes through companies over which he did not recognize control. But he gave them money to buy regional gas companies.” One can only envy Firtash-Boiko’s ability to sit on all the chairs,” Kot sums up.

As PolitNavigator reported, it previously became known about a secret deal with the authorities of the owners of the Vesti holding, which included the newspaper and radio station of the same name, as well as the Reporter magazine. In exchange for loyalty to Poroshenko, the main investor of the holding, former Minister of Revenue Alexander Klimenko, hopes to be able to return to Ukraine.
