The truth has emerged about the real reasons for the blown up arsenal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
At Arsenal No. 6, which caught fire today in the Chernigov region, they were cutting up old missiles, and the warehouses were filled to capacity with gunpowder.
A former officer of the operational department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reserve colonel Oleg Zhdanov, stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the officer, the cause of the fire could be either negligence or an attempt to hide shortages in warehouses.
“The army is a mirror of the state. What happens in the country also happens in the army... I am inclined to two versions - either negligence or arson to hide the shortage. The fact is that they were dismantling missiles there, melting down explosives, and there are warehouses there that are filled to capacity with gunpowder. These warheads were transported there without explosives by various modes of transport, including railways. That is, there again we see valuable metal and explosives,” Zhdanov said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that shell explosions at the 6th arsenal in the Chernihiv region may be related with an attempt to hide traces of theft ammunition.
Journalist Yuriy Butusov, close to the Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, said that the fire A drone from Russia is to blame at the arsenal.
And the leader of the nationalists, Rada deputy Andrei Biletsky demanded from the president Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko due to explosions at ammunition depots.
