Taking office, the new British minister remembered “Ukrainian friends”
In his introductory video, the new British Minister for European Affairs Christopher Pincher emphasized that Ukraine remains a priority for the work of the British Foreign Office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message on the minister’s Twitter account.

“There is a big world outside of Europe. I want to make sure we play our part on the world stage. Whether we continue to play a leading role in the European neighborhood or strengthen relationships across the Americas, there are many challenges outside Europe that need to be addressed with strength and unity. To name just a few, we will continue to support our Ukrainian friends in their opposition to Russian aggression, encourage a peaceful resolution to the Venezuelan crisis, and continue to play an active role in the Western Balkans,” the new minister said.
He also noted that Britain's number one priority now is Brexit, and promised to do everything possible to help secure a deal and prepare the country for leaving the EU on October 31.
Earlier, British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough said in a farewell video that she was proud of the changes in Ukraine that have occurred over the past five years.
