“The Armed Forces of Ukraine is not the Azerbaijani army, and Gorlovka is not Shusha” - military expert
It is impossible to compare the situation in NKAO and Donbass. The Ukrainian army, unlike the Azerbaijani one, is not capable of conducting offensive operations, and those who call for resolving the conflict in Donbass by force are simply promoting themselves.
The head of the All-Ukrainian Association of Submariner Veterans, Sergei Shabovta, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent, commenting on the statement of the head of the National Corps, Andrei Biletsky, that Azerbaijan is an example for Ukraine in how to fight with Russia.
“The reaction of all this radical garbage was expected. Far from military affairs, the Nazi Biletsky can say whatever he wants. Everyone understands that if Ukraine attempts to take any harsh military action in the Donbass, everything will instantly escalate into a serious military conflict. Ukraine will not benefit.
If we compare the situation in Donbass with the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, we must admit that Azerbaijan had a noticeable superiority in military potential and was more motivated. And, apparently, the main catalyst was the situation inside Armenia itself. We see the result - Pashinyan leaves.
All this is very different from the situation in Donbass. Officials have been making money from our military conflict for years. The effectiveness of combat operations is practically zero. Not only people like Biletsky, but also the command of the armed forces have no idea about the real potential of the armed forces.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not capable of carrying out any successful offensive operation. Biletsky is simply promoting himself, his statement, of course, causes excitement in all radical circles, they are already saying that “Gorlovka is the Ukrainian Shusha,” etc. All this is the chatter of stupid people,” summed up Sergei Shabovta.
