The Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrating forces in the Gorlovka direction
The Ukrainian side may carry out armed provocations on the eve of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the area of the village of Zaitsevo, where the situation continues to remain extremely tense, the arrival of about 100 militants of the Azov regiment was noted. The militants' technical equipment includes 8 infantry fighting vehicles and 9 units of 122-mm D-30 howitzers. As a means of strengthening this combat group, 10 tanks from the 30th mechanized brigade were assigned,” he said.
The representative of the defense department did not rule out that Poroshenko, who is rapidly losing his chances of remaining in the presidential chair, is considering the escalation of the armed conflict in Donbass with the aim of introducing martial law in areas unfavorable for his election campaign as one of the options for disrupting the vote.
“In this regard, we appeal to international organizations, including the OSCE, to record the facts of the active gathering of Ukrainian Armed Forces troops in the Gorlovka direction and to monitor the withdrawal of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements to designated storage sites,” Bezsonov called.
