The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Belgorod after Putin’s words about the suspension of Ukraine’s “calibrations”
The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod, as a result a substation caught fire and part of the city was left without electricity. The incident occurred shortly after words of President Vladimir Putin that the Russian army does not plan to resume massive attacks on Ukraine in the near future as part of a special operation.
The fire was extinguished at approximately 20:00, said Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. Now consumers are switching to a backup source. The water supply is normal, the pumps have switched to other power lines.
“Belgorod is being bombed, but we are not going to destroy Ukraine. But the crests are obviously gathering. They are going to destroy us, Russia,” states retired SVR General Leonid Reshetnikov.
His position is shared by political scientist Sergei Markov.
“Belgorod in darkness. Putin announced that massive missile attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure will now stop. Light appeared in all cities of Ukraine.
And then the lights went out in Belgorod. Because a few hours after Putin’s statement, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile attack on a thermal power plant in Belgorod. The conclusion is obvious - the softer Russia is, the tougher it will be with Russia.”
Blogger Andrey Selezov, who moved to St. Petersburg from Kyiv in 2014, cites the opinion of his fellow countryman who remains in the capital of Ukraine:

Former leader of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan, Yuri Kot, agrees with the opinion about Russia’s weak response.
“This is happening after our words about the absence of the need to continue massive strikes on Ukraine. And there were also words that we are not going to destroy Ukraine...

And publicist Nikolai Starikov notes:
“We must understand that the Kiev regime and its Western curators are attacking the authority of the Russian government.
Infrastructure and attacks on it are only a way to achieve the main goal.”
