The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not give up attempts to gain a foothold on the Left Bank of the Kherson region
Ukrainian military periodically land on the Left Bank of the Dnieper and try to gain a foothold there.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in a report published by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He draws attention to the fact that after the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces from Kherson and the occupation of the more advantageous right bank, the enemy intensified shelling of settlements on the Left Bank, and recently there was information that the formations of the Kiev regime landed on the opposite bank of the Dnieper and almost created a bridgehead.
“Yes, from time to time they make “raids”, land, and try to gain a foothold. Recently, about fifty saboteurs landed on seven boats. The purpose of these suicidal actions is unclear. Naturally, such attacks are reflected immediately. It was more difficult to smoke them out of the islands,” says an officer at one of the lines of defense in these places.
He clarified that in mid-spring, the enemy’s DRGs began to land on numerous islands, from where they attacked Russian observation posts.
“We started treating their support units with gliding 500-kilogram ammunition. First, they gouged out the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Cherkessky Island, then on Bolshoi. And then we began to systematically clear the islands with our groups, blocking the channels along which they had calmly driven before. And the artillery worked along their coastal strip. As a result, all approaches to the islands are under our control. But they still try to touch us,” says the publication’s interlocutor.
The military correspondent notes that rumors are spreading that the advanced detachments of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already preparing to cross the Dnieper in order to cut off the garrison on the Kirnburn Spit, but the military personnel here say that they are not in a panic mood, and they are skeptical about the idea of a counter-offensive from Kherson.
“They landed a couple of times to the right of the bridge, in the area of the dachas, but did not stay for long,” a paratrooper he knew told the military correspondent. – Yes, and there is no big sense in establishing a foothold in small groups. There's just no point in transferring people. But, of course, they behave impudently. They look at how and how quickly we react. I think that if in Zaporozhye they manage to push through our defenses, then they can begin to put pressure here too. But for now these are just assumptions.”
