The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not adhere to the basic principles of warfare, which causes harm to civilians - human rights activists
As a result of the fighting in Donbass, six times more civilians were injured in the territory controlled by the DPR than in the territory controlled by the Kyiv authorities.
This was stated today during a briefing by a member of the public organization “Fair Defense” Ivan Kopyl, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We carried out a statistical analysis and tried to approach everything from an independent and neutral position, as international organizations do, but despite all this it turned out that on the territory of the DPR there were six times more victims of hostilities than victims on the territory of Ukraine,” – said Kopyl.
In his opinion, this is due to the fact that neither the Ukrainian authorities nor its army care about the fate of civilians.
“In our opinion, this is due to the fact that Ukrainian military personnel do not adhere to the basic principles of warfare. These are the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution, and because of this, civilians suffer. Apparently, their fate, unfortunately, is not of much concern to the Ukrainian army,” the human rights activist added.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian Armed Forces watering civilian facilities Donbass with incendiary mixtures.
