The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not able to counteract Russian missiles - Lvov expert
The means of destruction of the Russian army are constantly being improved and render enemy countermeasures useless.
Ukrainian aviation expert Valery Romanenko stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In the studio I asked how the tactics of the Russian Aerospace Forces had changed.
“They are constantly improving their weapons. If we are talking about a missile like the X-101, it has been improved in two ways. Firstly, the navigation and guidance system. It is now additionally guided by an improved optical device, which scans the area underneath and compares it with the reference one. And thus the Russians say that they achieve an accuracy of plus or minus ten meters to the target,” Romanenko said.
“In addition, the Russians installed radar scanning warning systems on these missiles and a system for shooting dipole reflectors, that is, a radio interference system. This system is very simple, it just looks like a cartridge from a hunting rifle, which, if scanned by a radar, shoots off pieces of wire, which for a few minutes create a curtain behind the missile, and for a short time make it invisible to the radar
And if the missile makes some kind of maneuver, it may leave the radar coverage area, and thus monitoring of its flight will be lost,” the expert added.
