The Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering losses, having captured villages in the “gray zone” near Gorlovka - the new positions of the Ukrainians are unprofitable because they are located in the lowlands.
This information was announced during a briefing by the official representative of the DPR defense department, Colonel Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The opening of fire by the enemy on civilians in the settlements of Golmovsky and Zaitsevo forces the Republic to respond with the use of non-prohibited types of weapons to suppress firing points. As a result, the 54th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is suffering losses. Thus, according to updated data, enemy units near Gorlovka on December 8 lost two servicemen killed and one wounded from the 25th “Kievan Rus” battalion and two servicemen killed from the 24th “Aidar” battalion. We do not rule out that some of these losses may be associated with the actions of barrage detachments from the National Guard of Ukraine,” Basurin said.
“Due to the remoteness of settlements from their nearest positions, the lack of passable roads, the impossibility of creating fortifications (since this is a “buffer zone” according to the Minsk agreements), as well as being in a lowland relative to the positions of the DPR Armed Forces. In fact, the military personnel of the 54th brigade are blocked in the villages and, if necessary, they will not receive timely reinforcements. Experience shows that they do not have the ability to quickly evacuate the wounded. In this regard, the number of irretrievable losses is increasing,” added the representative of the DPR army.
In the last 5 days alone, the enemy was unable to save the lives of two of his servicemen, due to the fact that he did not have time to deliver the wounded to a medical facility due to broken roads to provide them with qualified assistance.
