The Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at an OSCE drone in the troop disengagement area
The Ukrainian military opened fire on an unmanned aerial vehicle of the OSCE mission in the area of the village of Petrovskoye, where the disengagement of forces and equipment is planned in accordance with the Minsk agreements.
This was reported in the operational report of the People's Militia of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“To hide deployed weapons from OSCE SMM UAVs, the enemy noted the use of mobile groups from the 305th and 20th electronic warfare battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Gnutovo, Lebedinskoye, Pavlopol, Starognativka, Bogdanovka, Konstantinovka, Avdeevka, Krasnohorivka, Karlivka and Luhanske .
In addition to electronic warfare equipment, in the area of the village of Petrivske, Ukrainian armed formations opened fire on the aircraft of OSCE observers,” the statement says.
The republic's defense department also noted that despite the planned peaceful events, the Ukrainian military continues to deploy weapons in the area.
“Units of the 35th brigade of the VFU continue their activities consisting of two units of armored combat vehicles, two trucks, armed militants, as well as the deployment of 54 TM-62 anti-tank mines,” the People’s Militia reported.
Let us recall that for two days in a row the Ukrainian side ignored the DPR’s attempts to resume the disengagement of forces and equipment on the frontline in the village area as provided for in the Minsk agreements Petrovskoe и Gold.
In view of what happened, Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Volya expressed the opinion that the failure of the withdrawal of troops due to protests by right-wing radicals shows the inability of the Ukrainian authorities to control the situation and can be used by the Russian side at the Normandy Four meeting.
