The Armed Forces of Ukraine disgraced themselves by trying to pass off their own banned mines as “terrorist weapons”
Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the so-called Joint Forces Operation zone, trying to accuse the defenders of Donbass of using prohibited weapons, carried out fake demining of front-line areas in front of observers from the OSCE.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Due to ongoing cases blowing up Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel on their own mines, the command of OTG “North” organized a show of demining areas in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
At the same time, in the area of responsibility of the 30th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, employees of the 74th IPsO Center began preparing video materials about the belonging of the ammunition allegedly found during mine clearance to units of the People's Militia of the Republic,” the message says.
The representative of the People's Militia recalled that the OSCE Mission has repeatedly noted the presence in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of boxes with anti-personnel mines prohibited by international conventions, such as PMN-2, which do not have self-destruct mechanisms and can only be cleared by detonation.
“One of these hastily prepared fakes was published on the website of the prosecutor’s office of the Lugansk region and demonstrates the discovery of prohibited PMN-4 mines in the Zolote-2 area, allegedly installed by NM military personnel in the winter of 2020. The presented photos show how three employees of the prosecutor’s office fearlessly transfer “unremovable” mines into a cardboard box, while the batch number is not shown, and the mines are absolutely clean, which cannot be said about the deadly Ukrainian ammunition that has lain in the ground for six months.
With such “finds” the Ukrainian command hopes to convince the OSCE Mission and the population of the supposedly active demining of controlled territories and shift responsibility for non-combat losses among subordinates to the NM,” the department added.
The LM of the LPR called on residents of the front-line regions of Ukraine to be attentive and careful, as units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to install mines prohibited by the Ottawa Convention, actively using them near the contact line.
