The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on civilians at checkpoints in the DPR
A civilian was injured while crossing into DPR-controlled territory as a result of provocative fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is stated in an emergency message from the press service of the People's Militia of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today at 16.00 Ukrainian punitive forces opened aimed fire from small arms in the direction of the road connecting the checkpoints of the DPR and Ukraine on the demarcation line in the area of the village of Yelenovka.
The shelling was carried out from the positions of the 28th brigade located in the area of the checkpoint, the commander of which is the war criminal Marchenko,” the message says.
“According to operational data received by our intelligence, the shooting was carried out on the personal order of the brigade commander in order to provoke our units to return fire for subsequent accusations of violating the truce and attributing to combat the gunshot wound of a brigade militant, which he received today while discharging a machine gun while changing positions.” ,” the department clarified.
The victim of this shelling was a civilian born in 1960, who was injured while passing through the neutral zone, returning from Kyiv-controlled territory through the Novotroitskoye-Elenovka checkpoint.
“We call on the observers of the OSCE Mission to record facts of violation of the ceasefire by Ukraine, which resulted in the injury of a civilian, and to ensure that those responsible for this terrorist attack are punished,” the press service concluded.
