“Ukrainian soldiers stationed in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic have gotten themselves into another scandal. On Mount Karachun, located near Slavyansk, back in 2015, an artillery firing range was equipped. The training shooting is conducted in a southerly direction, towards the nearest neighbor of Slavyansk - the city of Kramatorsk. But Ukrainian artillerymen fire in such a way that the shells explode in the field without reaching the city.
From 8 o'clock in the morning on March 6, training shooting was started again in Karachun. The Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) was also prepared for firing. For safety reasons, only training rounds are fired from Grads during exercises.
However, on March 6, while preparing for firing practice, the crew of the Grad MLRS for some reason mixed up the shells and loaded the installation with live shells instead of training ammunition.
The firing range was limited and, according to all calculations, the missiles should have landed far from Kramatorsk.
Ukrainian jet fighters opened fire, firing live shells towards Kramatorsk.
Within a minute, indescribable panic arose at the Energomashspetsstal plant. Several shells exploded on its territory, hitting the part of the plant where the slag dump is located. It was only by a miracle that the employees of the enterprise and the factory buildings were not harmed by the sudden fire attack,” said Kharkova.
