The Ukrainian Armed Forces received the first hundred Vilkha missiles
The Ukrainian army has received the first batch of serial Vilkha missiles, the delivery of which is also planned for 2020, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the representative of the Department of Military-Technical Policy, Development of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Colonel Vladislav Shostak, reports the Army Inform news agency of the Ministry of Defense.
“This year, the first serial Vilkha missiles began to arrive in the Ukrainian army, and further deliveries are expected in January 2020. Also, for the needs of heavy artillery, 152-mm shells were purchased from a domestic manufacturer for the existing reserves of gunpowder,” Shostak said.
According to the military man, Ukroboronprom should soon organize mass production of the modernized Verba multiple launch rocket system, which has passed all the necessary tests and is put into service.
The report also states that the expected completion of the development of the 155-mm Bogdan installation this year may not be realized due to the untimely delivery of ammunition by the Turkish contractor; the gun has not yet been tested.
In the future, gunpowder, cartridges, a primer and a fuse will be produced in Ukraine for the needs of artillery. “Ukroboronprom” is actively working on the implementation of this production.
Earlier, modernized Vilkha-M missile systems were tested in the Odessa region.
