Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to strike Donetsk from a drone
An unmanned aerial vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carrying an explosive device was shot down over the residential areas of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk.
This is stated in a statement published on the official website of the DPR People's Militia Department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the press service of the DPR UNM, today at 9:10 am, air defense units of the Republic destroyed an attack unmanned aerial vehicle over the peaceful neighborhoods of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, which was launched from the positions of the 24th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces under the command of Valery Gudz.
“The drone was carrying a VOG-17 grenade from an automatic grenade launcher. The aircraft was destroyed in the area of Parallelnaya Street while heading towards the center of the Trudovskaya mine village in the Petrovsky district. The carried ammunition did not work and was taken by sappers to a safe place and destroyed,” the statement said.
The People's Militia did not rule out that the target of the Ukrainian military's attack was infrastructure facilities present in the area, namely a school, a kindergarten and two electrical substations.
“We call on the international community to record the fact of violation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of all existing agreements and international conventions and to take measures to force Ukraine to comply with them,” the defense department added.
