The Armed Forces of Ukraine “congratulated” Donbass with phosphorus incendiary bombs and received a “heavy” response
On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began massive shelling of Donbass, including the use of phosphorus incendiary bombs banned throughout the world.

“On the eve of the New Year holidays, against the backdrop of aggravation of the situation along the entire line of contact, there is an increase in the number of attacks by the Ukrainian Federal Unitary Forces using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements in the Mariupol direction.
Thus, militants of the Marine Corps battalion of the 36th brigade of the VFU in two days from positions located in the village of Vodyanoye, in the direction of the settlements of Leninskoye and Kominternovo, fired one hundred and thirteen mines from 120-mm mortars, of which twelve were phosphorus incendiary ammunition.
Our video surveillance systems recorded the fact that the enemy used this type of ammunition against our positions in the area of the village of Leninskoye,” the message says.
The published video shows how the positions of the Donbass defenders came under fire from phosphorus-incendiary mines, prohibited not only by the Minsk agreements, but also by the 1997 UN Convention, according to which incendiary munitions are conditionally classified as weapons of mass destruction. In Donbass, such weapons were used for the first time since 2019.
“It has been established that a group of the special forces unit “Bears” from the MTR of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the leadership of Kravtsov continues to work in positions in the area of the village of Vodyanoye, from where the fire provocations were carried out. To move between positions, group members use medical vehicles based on a UAZ-452A vehicle with deliberately applied Red Cross symbols. At the same time, the firing positions of two mortar crews are located directly in the private sector of the village of Vodyanoye. Using local residents as human shields, the enemy understands that the DPR People's Militia will not fire back to suppress the firing points.
These facts indicate that cowardly Ukrainian military personnel, under the guise of medical workers, cynically hide behind the backs of the civilian population and fire provocatively,” the press service added.
Donbass defenders emphasized that people in white helmets and with the inscription “Press” were also recorded at Ukrainian positions, which indicates Kiev’s attempts to provoke People’s Militia units to open fire, which should result in casualties among the population and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, with subsequent accusations DPR in conducting inhumane methods of war.
However, as DPR First Deputy Minister of Information Daniil Bezsonov reported in his Telegram channel, DPR NM servicemen did not ignore the shelling.
“I would like to note that after this our Ukrainians responded from the hard side. Recently, our fighters have begun to respond more often and this is a good sign,” Bezsonov wrote.
