“Three 152-mm shells fell on private houses in the Makeevka district of Gvardeyka,” the journalists say. – We heard these “arrivals” well and immediately began to gather. Apparently, it was very close to go. We rushed to the scene of the shelling with fire trucks, alerted from the central part of the city - local firefighters did not have enough water to extinguish the fire. On Pugachev Street two houses were on fire. There has been great dryness for a month now, and firefighters quickly realized that they would not be able to extinguish anything. But nevertheless, they tried their best, pouring huge flames from fire nozzles.”
According to local residents, the shots were fired from the direction of Peski or Avdiivka, occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Judging by the fragments found, the calibers are huge - they should have been taken away from the city a long time ago,” military correspondents note. “The purpose of the shelling is also unclear - there are no military units or checkpoints within a radius of several kilometers.”
“There are definitely no military installations nearby,” local resident Sergei assured journalists. “I don’t know where they’re shooting.” We managed to run into the corridor and lie down. That's where we have the safest place. I covered my mother, suddenly a second shell would arrive. And he arrived. Thank God, a little further away. Another shell fell between two five-story buildings, destroying a concrete garage and breaking all the glass in the area.”
