The Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted exercises under Russian control
The Ukrainian military conducted exercises in the Sea of Azov under the watchful supervision of Russian border guards.
While border guards, military sailors and pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were training to repel the “attack of saboteurs,” their actions were controlled by two border vessels of the Russian FSB, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As the press secretary of the Mariupol maritime security detachment Artem Polyakov said on Channel 5, Russian border guards do not approach Ukrainian ships closer than one mile.
“Almost every day, our tactical groups, which carry out missions to protect the state border, observe border patrol boats and ships of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, which are located at a distance of about one or two miles from us,” Polyakov said.
“During every patrol out to sea, our ships and boats encounter our enemy. That is, the coast guard ships of the FSB of the Russian Federation accompany us every time we leave,” added tactical group officer Maxim Nosenko.
At the same time, the commander of the so-called Joint Forces Operation, which replaced the ATO, Sergei Naev said that he prohibited Russian ships from entering the exercise area.
“In all the actions that we take in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, we always emphasize with practical actions that the part of the Sea of Azov that is within the borders of the Joint Forces Operation is inviolable and the admission of ships of the Russian Federation there is prohibited,” Naev said.
