Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass celebrated the day of formation of the Ukrainian Navy with a mass drunken brawl using firearms.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“From our source in the 35th brigade, we know for sure that the shelling of the republic’s settlement was carried out with the aim of concealing non-combat losses in the unit from the higher command.
Thus, yesterday the 503rd Marine Battalion hosted festive events on the occasion of the founding day of the Ukrainian Navy. At about one o’clock in the morning, a mass brawl with the use of firearms occurred between the marines and the sailors assigned to the brigade against the backdrop of rivalry between the military branches,” Astrakhan reported.
According to him, as a result of the drunken massacre, two militants received gunshot wounds, one of whom died from his wounds in the brigade’s medical unit, while more than ten servicemen were injured.
“To conceal the mass brawl, as well as to justify the death and injury of military personnel, the battalion commander, Major Sukharevsky, decided to fire at residential areas of the city of Gorlovka.
According to available data, the JFO commander, not trusting the work of the VSP, instructed the SBU department for the Donetsk region to conduct its own investigation of the incident.
Currently, SBU officers are working at the headquarters of the 35th brigade, and the issue of detaining the commander of the 503rd battalion is being considered,” added the representative of the department.
