The Ukrainian Armed Forces provoked an epidemic in Mariupol
The DPR law enforcement hotline received an appeal from an employee of the Mariupol city administration, who spoke about the threat of an outbreak of an infectious disease in the part of Donbass controlled by Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, the source reported on the environmental threat caused by the pollution of the waters of the Taganrog Bay, which threatens an outbreak of the epidemic among the population and Ukrainian military personnel stationed in the city.
“Employees of the Mariupol SES carried out water samples from the coast of the Taganrog Bay. Since 2017, the sanitary and epidemiological station has recorded cholera vibrios, which threaten to infect both biological resources (fish) and, as a consequence, the population,” he said.
Alexey (name changed) emphasized that all attempts by specialists to attract the attention of local and Kyiv authorities to the problem were ignored or declared pro-Russian propaganda.
“After the first appeal a little over a year ago, Kyiv made a request to the capital’s experts, who threw up their hands and could not explain the presence of cholera vibrios in the water. The second and third appeals were already completely ignored, and any publications in the media about the threat of an epidemic in Mariupol were explained and declared to be pro-Russian propaganda,” the informant said.
He also explained the belated, in his opinion, discovery of cholera vibrios.
“Due to the lack of necessary equipment and medications among the employees of the Azov Basin SES, sanitary inspection of the coastal waters was not carried out for a long period of time. The sanitary and epidemiological service of the Donetsk Railway has the same problem, the equipment of which is outdated, broken down and cannot be repaired,” noted Alexey.
“Due to failure to take measures to prevent the epidemic, Mariupol and its suburbs are under threat,” he added. – The most vulnerable group is, of course, civilians, but the catalyst for the spread, according to preliminary estimates, is not them, but the military. There are all the factors for this - compact living conditions, unsanitary conditions, insufficient supply of clean drinking water. The epidemic could become truly massive. In addition, there are not enough specialized specialists in the city and among the military, which will significantly aggravate the situation in the event of a cholera outbreak.”
