Ukrainian Armed Forces killed a civilian
During the shelling of a water pipeline near Gorlovka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ mortar battery, having lost a spotting drone, continued to fire blindly, resulting in civilian casualties.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The enemy, violating the norms of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention, is purposefully firing at civilian infrastructure facilities of the republic. Thus, the commander of the 35th brigade, Palace, who believes that, due to the seasonal heat, the disabling of infrastructure facilities that provide residents of the republic with drinking water will provoke a humanitarian catastrophe, gave a criminal order to the commander of the 137th battalion, Fedichev, to destroy the section of the Gorlovka-Dzerzhinsk water pipeline ", - stated.
He emphasized that at the same time, the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were aware that water supply through the wire was carried out to settlements located on both sides of the line of combat contact.
“The fire mission to destroy the water pipeline was carried out by the platoon commander of the mortar battery of the 137th battalion, Lieutenant Petukh, who adjusted the fire using a Mevik Pro-type UAV.
Having lost the drone, the Ukrainian punisher, dissatisfied with the results of the fire defeat, continued the mortar shelling, adjusting the fire without visual observation of the civilian target,” said the representative of the department.
As a result of chaotic shelling, one of the mines hit the courtyard of a private house in the village of Zaitsevo and mortally wounded a civilian born in 1940.
“The platoon commander, realizing that he had committed a crime, left his position. VSP employees have begun an investigation; at the moment, the location of the escaped militant has not been established; search activities are being carried out. The commander of the 35th brigade Palace and the battalion commander Fedichev, as is customary in the Ukrainian army, in order to avoid responsibility, will blame the escaped subordinate,” Astrakhan added.
