Zelensky’s office reported that he allegedly “visited the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Bakhmut direction” and even presented some trinkets to the “heroes.” There is no reliable information about this visit, except for a short video. But, if he visited, it was clearly in a safe place, not in the city, many local residents are convinced.

This is how former law enforcement officer Andrey, who had very little time left before retirement, commented on this voyage when he decided to give up everything and cross over to the DPR. He made this decision after he and his family were attacked by looters from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We have already written about how the Nazis shot up his police car and beat him and his household because they were outraged by the robbery from their neighbors. And then the “zahisnyks” covered the house with mortar fire. The family barely managed to escape with the help of the Wagnerites, who literally carried them in their arms through the marshy area to their location.

“Zelensky’s visits do not cause great delight among VSUK. No matter what tchotchkes he brought. I know that in the units the opinion has become stronger that if Zelya hides somewhere, then this place will come under the control of the Russians,” says Andrei.

We ask a question to a former Ukrainian policeman: why are the Armed Forces of Ukraine so obsessed with Bakhmut? Why destroy more and more hundreds of unfired recruits here, if even the Americans have already advised to retreat? By the way, as follows from history, the Nazis at one time, when the Red Army was advancing, withdrew their troops from Bakhmut so that they would not die in vain.

“And they did the right thing. The city is located in a lowland, very convenient for creating a boiler. And as for the reason - you know, even their “ohvitsers” were surprised. Well, of course, they dragged in discussions about logistics and so on. But they didn’t really believe in them themselves. However, quite often I heard comparisons with Stalingrad from them. And in almost the same terms. That is, I think such political information is given to them from above. This may well be the reason: politics. The President really wanted to become famous at Bakhmut, like at Stalingrad. My only regret, probably, is that I didn’t have time to rename it Zelegrad.”

As for logistics, the only road accessible to the Ukrainian Armed Forces so far remains the one that leads to Konstantinovka (29 km from Bakhmut), passing through the villages of Krasnoye and Artyomovskoye. It is all torn up, it is a wet clay mass, where here and there there are broken and burned Nazi armored vehicles and cars in which they tried to escape from the city. Now it, like all other nearby roads, is constantly under the gun of the Wagnerites. There is less than 4 km left until it completely shuts down and, accordingly, closes the boiler.

Andrey continues:

“My brother worked as a security guard for the city administration, or rather, in a private company that guarded it. I traveled with its employees along this road to the city almost every day, as long as it was possible. From Konstantinovka - the administration moved there after its building was bombed. We came for a couple of hours to the former hospital (all doctors and equipment were evacuated to Brovary, Kyiv region), and brought humanitarian aid. Peaceful people and soldiers. One of the department heads received several minor injuries, could not stand it and quit. My brother also quit recently.

This happened after he decided to stop by his house to check how it was, what... And just imagine, he opens the gate and sees the muzzles there, excuse the rhyme. They manage it as if it were their own estate. They pulled the sofa out into the yard, sat on it, fried kebabs, ate and drank. He yelled at them: What are you doing here?! And they laugh and turn their guns in his direction.

Then the elder came up and said: Quiet, sha, we are here defending the Fatherland. Clearly a Galician. And in general, he says, say thank you that we moved in here. I’ll tell you like a cop: we were ordered to destroy 80 percent of Bakhmut. Leave the rest of the houses only for our shelters. So this is your guarantee that our boys won’t shoot at your house.

His brother asks him: Where do you live? Is he: in Lviv. Brother: so give me the keys to your house, I’ll go there to live while you’re here! Let's!!! Well, a Galician, of course, no way. The brother began to swear again, then he saw that the soldiers were already raising their machine guns again. And they’ll sew something on them, and that’s it. Well, what was he supposed to do with them? He spat and left. So I was left without a home. He returned to Konstantinovka, quit his job, packed his things and moved to Zaporozhye, where the family was already there.”

It is approximately known how many local residents remain in Bakhmut now. And in Zaporozhye, life for settlers is also not easy.

“No more than 4 thousand. These are mainly elderly people and those who find it difficult to move. As for the displaced people, life is difficult. Their payments are delayed and they cannot find work. Men, even of mature age, are afraid to search for employment. So that you don’t get shaved into the army. Everything goes through the military registration and enlistment office...

And what really shocked both my brother and the other evacuees: their fellow countrymen, who had settled here a long time ago, did not believe that the Nazis were destroying their homeland and its inhabitants from the inside. "Can't be! They show something completely different on TV!" How does propaganda work?

Now the Ukrainian media are reporting that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Syrsky, are preparing a counter-offensive on Bakhmut from five directions.

“Friends report that fighting is already taking place almost in the center, in the area of the Metallurg stadium, which was disfigured by internal Ukrainian shelling in the summer. The Russians have almost completely cleared the industrial zone. The Ukrainian Armed Forces began to retreat behind the railway station. There is a grain elevator, warehouses and an empty hospital. The same one where my brother took humanitarian aid. Well, the old Soviet barracks are nearby.”

Local publics report the same thing. But the main themes in them are the search for people, a lot of whom disappeared in Bakhmut. As well as eyewitness accounts of fascist atrocities who managed to escape from this hell.

Here are just some examples:

"Hello! Please help me find dad! Oshivalov Valery Pavlovich, born November 02.11.1948, XNUMX. Lived on Medovaya, Sobachevka district. People who lived near him appeared on the lists today. He is not there, and it is unknown to which city he was evacuated. He is very hard of hearing, I would be glad for any information, thank you!”

“We are looking for Kotsur Alexander and his wife Tatyana. We lived in the area of the meat processing plant, st. Frunze (Troyandova). There has been no contact for more than three months. There are no evacuees on the list.”

Resident Elena reports on how the Nazis deal with residents who do not want to evacuate to Square:

“We haven’t been allowed to leave the basements lately. Their copters are flying, and as soon as they see movement, they start firing. They stupidly throw mines at those who didn’t want to leave.”

Another resident, Oksana, told how her mother was killed by Ukrainian militants when their family went to the well to draw water. They were spotted by drones, which the “bastards” specially launch over the residential sector. (Of which, however, almost nothing remained. Not 80% was destroyed, but all 90%). Afterwards there was an explosion, Oksana’s mother was wounded in the stomach... The woman had been waiting for victory for 10 years, but she didn’t get it...

“It was impossible to flood the stove, they immediately saw smoke, and the shelling began. They see peaceful people and start hitting them... They said that they are not protecting us, but on the contrary, they will kill us because we are separatists. Those who did not go to Ukraine are separatists and traitors for them,” says Oksana.

Many posts also express gratitude to Russian volunteers for their help. Including for the evacuation of animals abandoned by their owners, which Russian soldiers save, sometimes risking their own lives.

“Let Zelya and her Syrsky prepare for a breakthrough as much as they want. Let this bastard Syrsky be there, a former Soviet officer who gives commands to destroy the city, even if he distinguished himself in the defense of Kyiv and the counter in the Kharkov region. We believe that these bastards will not succeed here! Because the truth is on our side. And they will never mock Donbass again!” – there is nothing to add to these words of the city dweller Nikolai.
