“Fulfilling the agreements reached in Minsk on February 12, today Ukraine begins to withdraw 100-mm guns from the demarcation line. This first step towards the withdrawal of heavy weapons will take place exclusively under the monitoring and verification of the OSCE,” according to the Ministry of Defense website.
“The Ukrainian side demands a complete ceasefire and urgent implementation of the Minsk agreements from all their signatories,” the message says.
“In case of attempts to attack, the schedule for the withdrawal of heavy weapons will be adjusted. Ukrainian troops are in full readiness to defend the country,” the General Staff assures.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the ATO headquarters stated that they would begin withdrawing weapons only after the shelling had completely stopped. However, according to official data from the headquarters, 7 shellings were recorded this night. In turn, the DPR leadership stated that the truce was observed at night, and the militias were withdrawing heavy weapons.
