VSUshnik opened fire on a journalist in Donbass
A Ukrainian soldier opened fire from small arms at a journalist who was trying to film the shelling of the DPR territory by the Ukrainian military.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that the command of the JFO headquarters continues to pursue a policy of preventing volunteers and independent journalists from accessing the conflict zone, in order to prevent the receipt of objective information about the situation and its dissemination to the public.
“Despite the ban on being in the Joint Forces Operation zone, correspondents still get to the front line in various ways, where they film reports at their own peril and risk. But this command policy is beginning to lead to tragic consequences,” said a representative of the defense department.
According to his information, yesterday, in the area of the village of Vodyanoye, independent correspondent and volunteer Volkov made an attempt to secretly remove the opening of fire from the positions of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade on the territory of the Republic.
“This fact was noticed by the brigade servicemen, who demanded that the journalist give up his video camera. To make his demands more convincing, one of the servicemen decided to intimidate the volunteer by firing a burst from a machine gun at him, as a result of which Volkov was injured and was taken to the hospital in serious condition,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
