A Ukrainian serviceman was seriously injured as a result of the detonation of ammunition, which he was modifying to be dropped from an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Dmitry Astrakhan announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to his information, yesterday, August 27, the commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Boyko, was seriously injured by a VOG-17 grenade launcher.
“Investigators from the prosecutor’s office who arrived at the scene found that the militant was preparing ammunition to be dropped from an attack UAV, but violated safety requirements and caused an explosion,” Astrakhan reported.
He emphasized that this fact once again proves the use of attack UAVs by the Ukrainian military against civilians of the DPR.
“The previous time, on August 14, over the peaceful neighborhoods of the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, units of the NM DPR shot down just such an attack drone, controlled by terrorists of the 24th brigade and carrying a VOG-17 fragmentation grenade,” recalled the representative of the defense department.
