Armed Forces soldiers shot their “brothers” in front of DPR fighters
Ukrainian militants opened fire from machine guns and LNG at their colleagues who tried to leave the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is stated in an emergency message from the press service of the People's Militia of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our observers in the area of the northern outskirts of the village of Avdeevka recorded the fact of non-combat losses among militants of the 57th motorized infantry brigade.
So, today at 17.25 a group of three people in military uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced from the positions of the Ukrainian occupiers. The movers were unarmed. Our defenders did not open fire and continued observation.
After a short distance from the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, fire was opened on them from Ukrainian positions from small arms and mounted anti-tank grenade launchers. As a result of “friendly fire,” two died on the spot, one received leg injuries,” the press service reported.
At the same time, units of the DPR defenders continued surveillance, allowing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to evacuate the bodies of the dead and the wounded.
“We do not rule out that the injured militants were from the 42nd battalion of the 57th mechanized brigade, who, following the example of Kapitsky (Armed Forces officer Anatoly Kapitsky, who voluntarily went over to the DPR side at the end of April - ed.), wanted to come over to our side. Our intelligence is clarifying information about what happened,” the defense department added.
