An unidentified citizen detained by the Armed Forces of Ukraine near their positions was kept in a “pit” for a week, waiting for the right moment to present him to the higher command as a captured militia fighter.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We continue to receive information about non-combat losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Joint Forces Operation zone. Over the past 24 hours, one militant was injured in the area of responsibility of OTG “Vostok”.
At the positions of the VFU near Nevelskoye, a conflict occurred between militants of the 57th brigade due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Tired of enduring bullying from senior soldier Mukhin, soldier Zevko threw a grenade from an automatic grenade launcher into the fire where his offender was sitting. As a result of the explosion, senior soldier Mukhin received shrapnel wounds,” Astrakhan reported.
According to him, the VSP squad that arrived at the scene discovered the fact that the VSU officers were holding a “civilian” in a hole dug in the ground.
“During the investigation, it was established that the specified citizen was detained by militants near the positions on the night of April 25. The detainee did not have identification documents with him, and he refused to provide information about himself,” added the representative of the defense department.
He also said that the brigade commander decided to wait for the right time and pass off the detainee as a captured serviceman of the NM DPR in order to regain the trust of the higher command.
“In turn, during the investigative measures, representatives of the VSP established the identity of the detainee; he turned out to be a soldier of the 54th brigade of Zhoga soldiers, who escaped from the detention center where he was kept with other militants with suspected coronavirus,” concluded Dmitry Astrakhan.
