Ukrainian Armed Forces fought over a downed drone
In the “JFO” zone, servicemen from one of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a “friendly” reconnaissance drone, which was launched by their colleagues from another unit.
Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the LPR People's Militia Department, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainian militants continue to violate additional measures of the ceasefire conditions, which provide for a ban on the flight of any types of unmanned aerial vehicles. However, poor organization of interaction between structural units only leads to the loss of military property,” said the representative of the republic.
Thus, by order of the commander of the 92nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the “Joint Forces Operation” zone, a reconnaissance drone was launched towards the LPR. However, the Ukrainian military personnel at the forefront were not informed about this operation, as a result of which the expensive device, a Mavik-type UAV, was shot down by “friendly” fire.
The indignant would-be reconnaissance officers who arrived at the scene of the drone crash demanded that the senior position compensate the cost of the expensive device, but were refused and beat three of their colleagues in the positions.
“The brigade command is conducting an official investigation, as a result of which disciplinary measures will be applied to the junior officers and non-commissioned officers,” Filiponenko concluded.
