Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down their own drone
Ukrainian military personnel in the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” zone, in violation of the current truce, tried to use an unmanned aerial vehicle to reconnaissance the area and check their own camouflage, but the UAV was mistakenly shot down by another unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Inaction on the part of the Ukrainian command leads to the fact that the number of cases of the use of UAVs is constantly increasing, which is a gross violation of the clause of additional measures to strengthen and control the current truce, namely the ban on the use of any types of aircraft.
Yesterday, our observers recorded the flight of a Mavic Pro-type UAV from the direction of the village of Chermalyk, with the help of which militants of the 1st battalion of the 53rd brigade checked the camouflage of their positions, however, due to inconsistency in actions, the drone was subjected to radio-electronic influence by a mobile group from the 305th electronic warfare battalion and crashed near our positions.
The defenders of the republic did not succumb to this provocation, did not open fire, monitored the enemy, strictly observing the ceasefire.
According to the data we have, the said aircraft was mistaken for a drone of the OSCE Mission and suppressed by the crew of the Bukavel AD station, carrying out the task of preventing OSCE observers from opening the placement of Ukrainian military equipment and equipment of brigade positions,” he said.
Basurin added that DPR specialists are currently studying information from the UAV’s memory card.
