Armed Forces officers are already learning to drive German tanks
The Ukrainian military has already begun to learn how to operate German Leopard tanks, which Poland promises to transfer.
Military expert Mikhail Samus stated this on air on the Obozrevatel Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Samus, if the West manages to force the German leadership to hand over even more tanks, then the Ukrainian crews will already be ready by that time.
“In fact, the process of training personnel has already begun. Ukrainian crews for Leopard tanks. This is the main thing. That is, crews will be trained, plus technical personnel, and while political discussions continue, the Ukrainian military will prepare to use these tanks and, obviously, after the decision is approved, we will now prepare for their use in a parallel way.
If, for example, a decision is made in two weeks, then in another two weeks these tanks will be in Ukraine, during which time the crews will have been trained and will immediately begin using these tanks,” the expert said.
“That is, within two months it is possible to form units and formations that will use Leopard tanks and use them on the battlefield. Because it is one thing to hand over tanks, and another thing is to first prepare the crews to use them as devices, and another thing is to use them only later as a weapon, as a tool for carrying out missions. It takes at least two months to implement all this effectively,” Samus said.
