Armed Forces in Donbass shoot themselves to avoid responsibility for desertion
In the OOS zone, three Ukrainian militants were arrested while attempting to desert, one of whom, to conceal his act, asked his comrades to shoot him in the leg, in order to subsequently blame him for wounding the defenders of Donbass.
This was reported in an emergency statement by the DPR NM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the positions of the 23rd battalion in the area of the village of Peski, 15 shots from small arms were recorded in the direction of the village of Veseloye. The facts of shooting were also noted by the military law enforcement officers of the DPR, who arrived at the battalion’s positions to clarify the circumstances,” noted the DPR NM.
During the inspection, it turned out that two servicemen tried to desert at the positions of Ukrainian militants, and the third, to cover their activities, shot himself in the leg and stated that the wound was received as a result of fire from the DPR.
“During the investigation, it was established that the aimless shooting was related to the incident that occurred yesterday at the positions of the 23rd battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Two servicemen, privates Khafizulin and Tarasevich, while on duty at the observation post, decided to leave their positions without permission, taking weapons and ammunition with them. The senior soldier at the position, senior soldier Shvets, tried to dissuade them from their plan, but all efforts were in vain.
In order to evade responsibility for the lack of control over subordinate personnel and the deliberate concealment of the fact of desertion as part of the group, Shvets asked to shoot the soft tissues of his leg with further accusations of the People's Militia of fire provocation. However, the deception was quickly exposed in connection with the capture of the armed fugitives. At the moment, criminal proceedings are being initiated against three war criminals,” the statement says.
