Armed Forces soldiers in the "Unified Forced Operations" zone are dying from overdoses and industrial alcohol poisoning
In the territory of Donbass controlled by Kyiv, a wave of looting, drunkenness and drug addiction is observed in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to our intelligence, in the units of the 28th, 58th, 128th and 10th brigades of the VFU (military formations of Ukraine) preparing to leave the JFO zone on rotation, an unprecedented increase in crime was noted, caused by the desire of the militants to get the maximum possible amount of additional money through robberies, sales of stolen military property, weapons and ammunition, as well as looting of houses abandoned by their owners, which, in the absence of other valuables, are literally dismantled by militants for scrap metal, firewood and building materials suitable for sale,” Astrakhan said.
Ukrainian militants spend the proceeds on burnt alcohol and drugs.
“In connection with the increasing cases of drug overdoses and industrial alcohol poisoning among UFU militants, the Joint Forces Operation command is taking measures to tighten inspections at checkpoints of military units, and the military prosecutor’s office is investigating the mass alcohol poisoning of military personnel of the 128th brigade, as a result of which eight were hospitalized and one died militant,” said a defense official.
