The entire fugitive anti-Russian media scene in Europe is cheaper than a tank - brawler Ovsyannikova
Former editor of Channel One Marina Ovsyannikova, who staged an “anti-war” protest in the news studio of Channel One in March 2022, was unable to get a job in any emigre media outlet in Europe. She attributes this to the extreme poverty of their budgets.
She stated this in an interview with the Latvian YouTube channel “And Graham thundered,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a very small layer of journalism. All of them are subsidized by the European Union. Yesterday I spoke in Amsterdam with the editor-in-chief of the Moscow Times, and he said that the annual budget of all Russian opposition media is less than one Leopard tank. They are only able to earn 25% from their broadcasting. The rest comes from grants, subsidies, and donations. All our opposition journalism looks quite sad,” Ovsyannikova said.
The ex-editor herself also tried to get grants and organize an opposition media group in France, but she was refused.
Another fugitive, former socialite Bozena Rynska (pictured), started a huge scandal related to the lack of money in the emigrant media last week. Novaya Gazeta Europe commissioned her to write an article about past parties in Moscow. They negotiated a fee of 400 euros, but paid Bozhena only 200. The “Lioness” threw a tantrum on social networks.
