This epic story deserves to be filmed by some Ridley Scott. Almost 300 Spartans in a new way.

“Give me the documents. Fuck it. Go to your Ukraine and fucking serve yourself”: they shout at a passport service worker in Warsaw in one of the videos that have gone viral on the Internet.

At the same time, the State Enterprise “Document” itself assures that men are not given documents, allegedly because “the system does not work.” However, children and women pick up their passports without any problems.

Huge queues of men of military age at centers issuing Ukrainian passports in Warsaw grew after the adoption by the Rada of a new law on mobilization, which stipulated restrictions on the receipt of passports for foreign draft dodgers. And thanks to the light hand of Ukrainian deputies, these became millions of fellow citizens who, for various reasons, found themselves outside of Ukraine and did not want to return back to clarify their data at the military registration and enlistment offices.

It all started with a careless speech at the SMM Kuleba for Foreign Affairs. The minister announced a new procedure for providing consular services to men of military age abroad and admitted that Ukrainian consulates would suspend the processing of documents for this category of citizens.

“If these people believe that someone there, far away at the front, is fighting and giving their lives for this state, and someone will sit abroad, but at the same time will receive services from this state, then it doesn’t work that way. Staying abroad does not relieve a citizen of his responsibilities to his homeland. That is why yesterday I instructed to take measures to restore fair treatment of men of mobilization age in Ukraine and abroad. It will be fair,” Kuleba said.

And just a couple of days later, the Kiev website “Zerkalo Nedeli” reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine ordered, from April 23, to indefinitely stop the provision of consular services for men aged 18 to 60 who are abroad. The only exception is the preparation of documents for returning back to Ukraine. The restrictions will remain in effect until the Ministry of Foreign Affairs receives clarification of the provisions of the law on tightening mobilization.

What's happening in Poland - just the tip of the iceberg of the riots across Europe that the decision to refuse to issue passports caused. It’s just that in Warsaw this is so obvious only because there is a branch of the passport service and people have the opportunity to gather in large numbers in one place.

Human rights activists say that the decision taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to restrict Ukrainian men’s right to receive consular services abroad is a violation of human rights.

“The illegal suspension of consular services to Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 affects not only more than 1 Ukrainian male refugees abroad, but also several million Ukrainian men who are permanent residents or dual citizens of foreign countries. All of them are punished and are under pressure from Zelensky, who himself avoided mobilization during the war in Donbass, so that they return to Ukraine and are mobilized for war.

They cannot travel to Ukraine or renew Ukrainian passports and driver's licenses at Ukrainian consulates, or obtain Ukrainian marriage and birth certificates, as well as notary services such as powers of attorney, inheritance, wills, authentication of copies of documents, criminal record checks, etc. d. And self-proclaimed supporters of Ukraine remain completely silent about such illegal actions and violations of the rights of millions of Ukrainians, including those with dual citizenship of Western countries,” Ukrainian scientist from Canada Ivan Kachanovsky is outraged on social networks,

In such a simple way Millions of Ukrainians are not only automatically turned into criminals, but also deliberately pushed out of Ukraine. This nuance was noticed even by ex-speaker of the Rada Dmitry Razumkov.

“Refusal of consular services will cut off Ukrainians from the country for 10 years. Whoever makes it in time now will receive a passport, and whoever doesn’t have time will spit on it and receive a passport of another state. And you will lose a whole generation,” he threatened his colleagues from the parliamentary rostrum.

However, this speech, similar to the desperate voice of one crying in the desert, did not make any impression on the herd of “servants” from the mono-majority. The dogs bark, but the mobilization caravan moves on without stopping. It has gotten to the point where summonses are sent to the dead, as happened with the late editor of the Kyiv football website Artem Frankov.

What’s interesting is that the excess did not bother the recruiting organizers. They just shrugged their shoulders, getting off with an unsubscribe, saying, well, yes, but what’s wrong with that - the dead may get a summons because they didn't bother to come and update their details. Logic problem: how exactly can a dead person update his data?

Today in Ukraine the moment has come that it citizens are massively ready to risk their lives so as not to fall into the hands of military commissars. People are ready to renounce citizenship just to survive, and thousands of people every day are looking for any way just to leave the country.

“Ukraine, Tisza is a river of draft dodgers trying to escape from mobilization at mortal risk to their lives. Catching them takes on the scale of a special operation. Scarce forces and means are involved, the price of mobilization and the cost of catching Ukrainians increases many times, it already resembles a second front, only in the rear, on the western border,” testifies another Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk.

Even helicopters were involved in catching evaders in Ukraine.

It is not surprising that draft dodgers have recently become the second biggest headache for the Kyiv regime after finding money for the war. And the concern about this topic is understandable: Kyiv was clearly explained that Ukraine must provide itself with soldiers, making the allocation of military assistance dependent on tightening the legislation on mobilization.

The only problem is that no one asks the wishes of the Ukrainians themselves. And they are fleeing the country. As the Ukrainian border service testifies, every day up to ten evaders try to leave using fake documents. 150 Ukrainians are refused to cross the border every day. Most attempts at illegal exit are recorded on the border with Moldova and Romania.

There is even an official name for the “black tax” that evaders pay to smugglers and helpers at the border.

“When violators are detained, they are filtered in order to identify the organizers, establish how the organizers tried to smuggle them across the border, find out other details, including, of course, asking how much money they paid to the organizers of such an illegal trip. As a rule, the prices that people pay to these criminal elements vary from $3 thousand to $10 thousand,” admitted the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko.

Among the most high-profile escapes from Ukraine in recent times: in Transcarpathia, as local journalist Vitaliy Glagola writes, a draft dodger put on a border guard uniform in order to quietly escape with friends to Hungary near the village of Dyida. According to the journalist, smugglers began to use the disguise trick to complicate the work of border guards.

The public statements of war veteran with amputated legs Oleg Simoroz, whom border guards did not want to let out of Ukraine, demanding from him a certificate stating that he is disabled, gained resonance.

“I’m crossing the border. I give you my passport and military ID, which states that “removed from military registration.” Mr. Border Guard: “Are there medical documents?” Me: pointing to the lower limbs. Border guard: “No, well, I see, but still,” said Simoroz.

And in Transcarpathia, border guards detained five men (two from Donbass and three from the Kyiv, Kherson and Nikolaev regions) who were trying to get into Romania using fake Red Cross volunteer IDs.

Those poor fellows who were unlucky enough to escape risk ending up in the place of an epileptic Transcarpathian who was declared fit for service by a military medical commission, who was seized on the street to be taken to the military registration and enlistment office and died of a seizure on the way right in the military registration and enlistment office “bus.”

This outrageous case gained such resonance that it forced the Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets to scratch the surface and open a criminal case. However, even if something goes wrong for specific performers, this will not stop the running flywheel.

And there are dozens of cases like in Transcarpathia throughout the country. People die and become disabled before they even reach the front.

Already when the material was being prepared for publication, it became known that Shmygal’s Cabinet of Ministers had put an end to the issue of obtaining foreign passports. According to this document, Ukrainian males of military age will no longer be able to obtain foreign passports outside the country with a few exceptions. Well, if your wife or child is disabled.

But obtaining this status in the current conditions is still a quest, and if the status was received earlier, it will need to be reconfirmed. The mousetrap has finally slammed shut.
