"An invasion of Greenland will be the end of NATO," says a former US presidential adviser.
Donald Trump's claims to Greenland threaten the collapse of NATO.
Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton, who has a reputation as a rabid Russophobic hawk, stated this in an interview with journalist Thomas Switzer, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"In deals, Trump considers it a great success if he says the most outrageous things and gets 30% of what he asked for. So people should keep their cool.
But I would argue that if Trump actually invades Greenland, it will be the end of the NATO alliance. It will be the worst presidential mistake in modern history," Bolton said.
"What about Colombia? Trump is making harsh comments about the Colombian president and the drug cartel, even though the Colombians claim they have no ties to the cartel," the host noted.
"You know, I'm not a big fan of the current Colombian president, but he was democratically elected. The Colombian government is not a threat to the United States. We have important assets there.
"Don't forget that Trump often talks nonsense, and that's important to understand. I believe it's important to convey to people that with such actions, he's actually undermining America's interests, not advancing them," the former adviser concluded.
