Vucic: Europe is at war and the West will not spare Serbia to destroy Russia
Europe is de facto in a state of war, no matter what they say, and Serbia in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is a victim of the collective West. This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in an address to the nation in connection with the US and EU ultimatum regarding Kosovo.
According to Vucic, Western representatives said that if Serbia does not accept the so-called “German-French plan to normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina» providing for the actual recognition of the independence of the “Republic of Kosovo”, then the country will lose the visa-free regime with the EU and all Western investments, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
All EU member countries, including those five EU countries that do not recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of the “Republic of Kosovo,” supported at a joint meeting the French-German plan for Kosovo, which should become a new platform for negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.
“We were not involved in any way in drawing up this plan, no one consulted with us. All EU member states, including those five countries that did not recognize the “Republic of Kosovo,” accepted it. The plan assumes that we will not interfere with Kosovo’s accession to the UN,” Aleksandar Vucic said in his address last night.
In case of refusal to accept the new plan, which opens the way for Pristina to all international structures, in the shortest possible time Serbia will lose the visa-free regime with the EU, the process of European integration will be stopped, and later all foreign investments will be withdrawn from the country, as happened with Russia.
“It would be a matter of weeks before our visa-free regime would be cancelled, and then the cessation and withdrawal of investments from Serbia, as they did with Russia. In just 15 days, more than 90% of investments were withdrawn from Russia. Thanks to foreign investments, more than 200 thousand people are employed, just keep in mind that we pay salaries and pensions from the budget from this,” Vucic emphasized.
“My concern is even greater because the situation in Ukraine will continue to worsen and expand. You now see that it is no longer just Russia and Ukraine. I’m afraid that this will spread to other territories, and I’m especially afraid that it won’t happen on our territory. In such conditions, such demands will increasingly be made against Serbia,” the Serbian President noted.
“What worries me is that there is no longer a rational approach to solving problems. I saw this at a meeting with the Big Five (envoys of the US, EU, Italy, as well as the French president and the German chancellor - approx. Mon). No matter what I said and no matter what facts I cited, no one wanted to listen to me. The mind no longer plays any role. They have their own agenda, and this is the defeat of Russia, and along the way, everyone who gets in their way will be cleared out,” he continued.
At the same time, Aleksandar Vucic made it clear that he was not going to solve the problem of Kosovo and Metohija by military means (hence, choosing a radical scenario against the demands of the West).
“Let’s get out of these illusions that we are self-sufficient in the world and that we don’t see what’s happening around us. We must understand what our strength is and what their strength is. Let me remind you that Milosevic believed that not a single bomb would fall on Serbia because of Kosovo and Metohija. He thought that the bombs would not fall, and then it took him a couple of days to realize that a lot of bombs were falling. I was elected president because 60% of women voted for me when I promised to maintain peace and stability. My goal is to save the citizens of Serbia and the state of Serbia,” Vucic emphasized, once again repeating that he does not want “children to return in coffins.”
“Serbia must speak, must participate in dialogue, must continue on the European path, not because I adore their hypocrisy about loving UN resolutions and declarations, but so that we do not find ourselves isolated,” Vucic said.
“We didn’t sign anything, and our initials are nowhere to be found, we were simply confronted with the facts,” the Serbian leader noted and added that when it comes to this, parliament and the public will be informed.
Aleksandar Vučić promised that in the coming days he will invite all representatives of parliamentary groups and inform them about how the negotiations went, what is behind everything, and ask parliament and the government to play a more significant role.
Answering a question from journalists regarding the introduction of sanctions against Russia, which is also demanded by the West, Vučić said rhetorically:
“The opposition lied when they said that I would impose sanctions against Russia. Here comes January 23rd. 334 days have passed and Vučić has still not imposed sanctions.”
