Vucic: “We will erect the greatest monument to Lazar, Milos and all the heroes of Kosovo”
Vidovdan (Serbian victory in Kosovo) Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic celebrated in the capital of St. Prince Lazar Hrebeljenovic - Krusevac, who also celebrated his 650th anniversary.
In honor of the holiday, a monument to the leader of the Serbian army, the ruler of Moravian Serbia, Prince Lazar, was unveiled in Krusevac, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Aleksandar Vučić took part in a meeting of the Serbian government held in Krusevac, dedicated to supporting state-owned enterprises and helping remote settlements and municipalities. The President also visited the reconstructed building of the local Diagnostic Center.
“Today Vidovdan is a day when you can see everything, a day when you find out who has faith and who has unbelief, a day that is a symbol of the greatness of our people, a day that showed in our defeats how many of us there are, even when we are small in number,” said Vučić, addressing the townspeople in honor of the city day. – Today I am especially glad to be in Krusevac, 650 years after the founding of the city, and to be able to say that Serbia, even when they thought they had conquered it, did not give up, because the Serbian spirit is defiant and unshakable.
Today, the most important thing for us is that Serbia, which they wanted to kill and destroy at Vidovdan in 1389, not only did not die, Serbia, unlike many other countries, is free, and in Serbia no one except its citizens makes decisions . There are few countries that can boast of this... Do everything for the life of new generations who will know only about peace and not perish.
This is our most sacred duty…. We must do everything we can to stop the deaths. This is the greatest monument to Lazar, Milos and all the heroes of Kosovo.”
Also on this day, a monument to its founder, Prince Lazar, was erected in Krusevac.
“We wanted to show with this monument that the prince is looking at his city, which he created 650 years ago, looking at his children, at the future, but his naked sword is facing Kosovo, from where they look at his shield and his heart, which remains there,” said The author of the work is Boris Stejkovac, who made it together with Tome Komatine.
