Vucic: We will not allow the Americans to quarrel us with the Russians
Serbia will not allow the United States to interfere in its relations with Russia, and the East in its relations with the European Union.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced this in Novi Sad at a rally dedicated to the 11th anniversary of the Progressive Party, of which he is the leader.
“We do not have an influential patron, we must take care of our country ourselves in order to make decisions on our own. We will not allow the Americans to forbid us to be friends with the Russians, nor will we allow the East to forbid us to be friends with the Europeans. We will fight for Serbian interests. Serbia is number one for us, and only Serbia’s interest is important, and nothing else matters,” Vucic said to applause from the audience.
He added that Serbia will sign contracts with anyone to provide more jobs for citizens, but will pursue its own policies.
“Serbia is no longer so weak that others can make decisions on behalf of its people and leadership. Serbia will make its own decisions about its future,” Vucic said.
He expressed the hope that thanks to such a policy, the Progressive Party will win an even more convincing victory in the parliamentary elections next spring.
Now the Progressive Party is supported by about 53% of Serbs.
