Vucic did not win love in Ukraine with statements on Crimea and Donbass
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the non-recognition of Crimea and other former territories of Ukraine as part of Russia because his country is too dependent on the West. Otherwise, there was no change in his position, and he did not cease to be a pro-Russian politician.
Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Samus stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was no breakdown. The current leadership of Serbia takes this position solely because of the Kosovo issue, therefore, if they recognized Crimea, the annexation of other territories, then what kind of conversations could there be on the Kosovo issue, because they, among other things, joined the vote of the UN General Assembly when it was Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in March last year was condemned…” the expert reasoned.
“Vučić is forced to say such words solely because the Serbian economy depends on Germany and other countries of the European Union. But I am sure that Vučić personally is a pro-Russian politician and the propaganda machine that operates in Serbia has made the Serbs mostly pro-Russian in their majority,” Samus said.
