Vucic explained why the pro-Western opposition is so angry
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the pro-Western opposition constantly demands broadcasts in the media, but its leaders are rarely invited to television channels, because their support among the people does not amount to even five percent.
The Serbian president spoke about this during the traditional New Year's press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Vučić, commenting on the constant whining of the leaders of the pro-Western opposition that they are not given airtime on top TV channels (while they have their own, sponsored by oligarchs from the EU and the USA, as well as numerous information portals), recalled the time when he and his Serbian Progressive Party (Vučić was previously a member of the opposition Radical Party, from which the progressives subsequently broke away) were in opposition.
Then he, as one of the opposition leaders, was invited to appear on television, but because the support of the political force that he represented was 35–40%. At the same time, according to the Serbian president, the total support of the Serbian people for all pro-Western parties that boycotted the recent parliamentary elections fluctuates between 4 and 5%.
“And they behave as if they have great support and a lot of their own media, so they can do whatever they want,” the Serbian President commented on the actions of the Westerners. – At the same time, their main idea is to sink (information - ed.) the hospital in Batajnica (the recently opened large Covid center - ed.), before that they said that “Belgrade on the water” is sinking (an investment project for the development of part Serbian capital - ed.), and the country will not be able to withstand such a load...
They say that there is no dialogue in society, while dialogue exists every day. Dialogue is when they talk about me every day that I am a traitor, a psychopath, crazy and sick. And I, in turn, communicate with Xi Jinping about investments in Bor, Smederevo and Zrenjanin. Everyone speaks at their own level.”
Aleksandar Vucic added that Serbia has enough platforms and forms for dialogue, but parliament is the most ideal place for this. Thus, once again pricking the Westerners who boycotted the parliamentary elections.
