To begin consultations on the formation of a new Serbian government, a decision from lawyers is needed to find out whether this can be done before the end of the first term of President Aleksandar Vucic or whether it is necessary to wait until the start of the second.
The Serbian leader stated this while speaking to reporters, reports the Tanjug agency.
“I’m waiting for the final meeting of our lawyers, when all the procedures are completed, we’ll see if I have to wait for the expiration of the first term on May 31, because only then will my second presidential term begin. Depending on this, if it is possible during the first, it will be in the second half of May, and if not, then as soon as I take the oath of office in the National Assembly,” the president said.
He also stressed that it is very important to start negotiations as soon as possible and reach an agreement.
The President of the country noted that he now meets daily with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on key issues, and added that today he communicates on issues of stockpiles of goods, as well as all agricultural products.
“There are a lot of problems, because when the price of oil in the world jumps, and we cannot influence it, when the price of gas jumps, it cannot be influenced, it affects all other products, and these are our problems that we face ", said the president.
