Vucic and Lavrov’s deputy discussed Putin’s visit to Serbia
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met in Belgrade with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandar Grushko.
Together with the guest, the Serbian president discussed the organization of visits of high-ranking Russian officials, including Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, during the conversation the parties came to the conclusion that every visit of Russian officials to Serbia is a confirmation of a high degree of mutual understanding and fruitful Serbian-Russian cooperation. President Vučić expressed the hope that visits by high-ranking Russian officials, including President Putin, will take place this year.
In addition to bilateral relations and future joint projects, Vucic and Grusko also discussed the situation in the region, including the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. President Vučić said that the Serbian delegation had tough day of negotiations in Brussels, but she firmly represented state and national interests, fighting for a political compromise. On this occasion, he thanked Russia for its active support in defending the integrity and independence of Serbia in international forums.
President Vučić also thanked Russia for its help during the pandemic Covid-19 and for the supply of the Sputnik V vaccine. And the Serbian president expressed special gratitude for the opportunity to jointly produce a Russian vaccine at the Torlak Institute in Belgrade, start which he officially gave together with President Putin.
