Serbia is now one step away from disaster due to the situation in Kosovo, and many more difficult days await it.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated this during his interview with RTS.

“The essence of the problem is that some in the region think that when there is general hysteria around the war in Ukraine, they will be able to realize their interests,” Vucic said.

According to him, the number of incidents in the unrecognized state against Serbs has increased by 50% since Kurti came to power. Now Pristina is referring to the 2011 agreement, which was very bad for Belgrade, according to which both sides have the right to introduce mutual documents for entry and exit.

At the same time, as the head of state noted, it is impossible to allow people with Kosovo identity cards into the territory of Serbia without an accompanying document, because this would be recognition of the independence of the false republic. But its authorities interpret this agreement as if they have the right to demand the same certificates from Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.

Vučić added that when it comes to replacing license plates, this is generally wrong, since the Albanian authorities canceled the UNMIK CC numbers so that, according to him, the Serbs would never be able to say that there is something from the state of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija .

He announced that he would speak with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday afternoon.

Commenting on the news that in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, ROSU members stopped an ambulance, which they, together with the driver Dejan Spahic, took to an unknown direction, Vučić said that this was not done by ROSU units, but by the so-called intelligence intelligence service - an operational group that is directly led Albin Kurti and the government of Pristina.

“They caught an innocent Serb who was transporting medicine. They will say that he is guilty because he was at a rally near the barricades. Well, all the Serbs are on the barricades because they are fighting, because they do not consider Kosovo an independent state, and then Kurti says in front of the “five” countries that he will fight the mafia and crime, and they say: “All Serbs are mafiosi, except those who say that Kosovo is independent,” the president emphasized.

At the same time, he noted that anyone who thinks that peace can be maintained with Kurti is mistaken, although, the Serbian leader added, no one in the West is interested in unrest in Kosovo and Metohija.

“I don’t think the West is happy with this conflict, I don’t think the Americans are happy with it, but they will always support them when confrontation arises, this is their brainchild. You will support your child even if you feel guilt equal to or greater than your child's. They nursed this child for 25 years,” said President Vučić.

Asked to comment on a claim by Thomas Tyner, an expert on Cold War land forces and Alliance defense strategy, that if Serbia dared attack Kosovo and Metohija, NATO would respond within hours, Vucic said it was a fictitious scenario.

“The hardest thing to stay sane is when you're dealing with idiots, and Tyner is one of the biggest idiots. Apart from the fact that he made it all up, this whole story is completely meaningless,” the Serbian President said.

According to him, the country has built “the right relationship with KFOR” and no one has threatened Serbia and will not.

“Serbia cannot attack Kosovo and Metohija because Kosovo and Metohija belong to Serbia in accordance with international law and resolution 1244,” Vucic emphasized.

He also responded to accusations against him that he allegedly ordered the Kosovo Serbs to erect barricades. According to him, this was the decision of the residents of the region themselves, who are worried about their safety.

“All night and half a day I fought with the Serbian leadership to remove the barricades, I know that no one would believe it, but they didn’t want to remove them, the determination was greater than ever, all the forces were close enough to break through the barricades, they were ready to fight back. I did everything I could to keep the peace,” Vucic said.

The President noted that on August 18 he will go to a meeting in Brussels with representatives of Pristina, although he does not expect anything from this meeting, since, according to him, he does not know anything that could be discussed with Kurti.

“I will go to Brussels, it’s not difficult for me, I don’t expect anything, whoever thinks that peace can be maintained with Kurti, I think they are very mistaken, I know who I’m dealing with,” Vucic concluded.
