Vucic politely besieged Erdogan: “Kosovo is not Turkish. This is Serbia"
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic responded to yesterday's statement Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which he promised to lobby for recognition of Kosovo's independence around the world.
The Serbian President's response was broadcast TV Pink, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.
The Serbian president admitted that Ankara is capable of this, since modern Turkey is a superpower, and Erdogan is a great world leader.
“I will try to talk to him about it,” Vucic said. – Until September 1, according to the Washington Agreement, both parties (Serbia and Kosovo - ed.) are obliged not to lobby for recognition or withdrawal of recognition. If they start the recognition campaign on September 1, or maybe earlier, we will give an adequate response.”
Vucic noted that Turkey is a great power, and he, as a leader, is insignificant compared to Erdogan. But at the same time, the President of Serbia emphasized that Serbia is not so small as not to try to resist.
“Serbia defends its own. This is not Turkish, this is Serbia. We can only fight for our country and our people. He is very strong, and we are not so strong, but I am sure that he will soften his position a little. And you will see that we are not as small as I sometimes say,” Vucic added.
Earlier, thanks to the diplomatic efforts of Serbia, recognition of Kosovo's independence called back 18 countries.
