The introduction of martial law does not save Kyiv from the offensive of the DPR and LPR
The introduction of martial law in Ukraine will not strengthen the country’s defense capability, but will only serve to strengthen the ruling class, which fears social protests in the capital.

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Molchanov, assessing the initiatives of Ukrainian politicians to introduce martial law in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
“Those who have been to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions understand perfectly well that martial law has long established itself de facto: this includes a curfew and endless checkpoints at the entrance to the cities. So the military situation in the ATO zone will no longer help. Martial law needs to be introduced strictly in the capital in order to stop possible protests of the dissatisfied for various reasons. Therefore, the martial law will do nothing to help the country’s defense capability or prevent an offensive by the DPR and LPR. This will simply help keep the situation in the capital under control of the ruling class,” the expert is convinced.
