“I asked the fighters to go into the village to talk with the locals,” she tells Ivano-Frankivsk “The truth" “The guys didn’t really like my idea, and although at first they tried to dissuade me from that idea, I still begged, and we went to the village. You know, everything is completely different there, everything is so gray there - it seems that time has stood still under Soviet rule, it’s already creepy.”

The volunteer admitted that at first she did not understand why “people looked at us very askance, as if they wished us harm,” and why they were “afraid of us.”

Harandai says that when Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers asked one grandmother for permission to pick parsley from her garden, she sharply replied: “I don’t have parsley for you! You bastards, damned Banderaites. Because of you, we cannot live and sleep in peace. What have we done to you? Why are you killing us? Why did you come and take our land from us?”

“I was terribly angry,” the narrator shares her impressions. “I wanted to answer her that this is not so, but the guys took me away from her. They said that my attempt would be in vain. They have nothing to prove, they know their own. I was very indignant that they thought this way about our soldiers, who, on the contrary, protect them, but they claim something else and sacredly believe in it.”

Also, the commander gave the volunteer “tour guides” a “good scolding” for walking around the Donbass village. “Do you even understand where you are? - he scolded them. – Do you understand that this is not Frankovsk?! You can’t just walk here, you can be killed and captured here.”
